As a Pricing Analyst at FJA-US, you will be joining our team of qualified and diverse individuals who come together as a collective to deliver to our clients the best possible product. Amid constantly changing client-driven deadlines and deliverables, you will work with other Pricing Analysts, responsible for analyzing and modeling data into the Underwriting Workbench (UWB) platform. Essentially, customizing the product for a specific client, down to the very littlest of details.

Hybrid Work Model & Location: All candidates must be a resident of the US based in the State of New York. Team members are required to be present in-office/onsite at our Midtown NYC office a minimum of 1 day per week. Please note, this frequency may increase based on business requirements.

 

Work Schedule: This position requires availability during operational hours as determined by specific business and client needs that may include different time zone(s) than an individual’s physical location. Dependent upon business requirements, schedule flexibility with and without advance notice is required as this position may necessitate working additional days and hours outside of the employee’s regular work schedule.

 

Travel: Flexibility to travel as business needs dictate is required. Domestic overnight travel will be required to other FJA and/or client offices; frequency varies from project to project. Additionally, we bring our whole team together for an annual meeting held within the US.

 

Education/Training: High School Diploma or equivalent required, college degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience required in data analytics, modeling and/or as a Pricing Analyst I.
  • Value Add/Plus Experience:
    • Group Insurance Industry e.g. life, disability and/or P&C responsible for actuarial modeling or quantitative analysis.
    • Pricing, underwriting, reserving, and/or configurations.
    • Java, Agile Methodologies, JIRA, Confluence, Maven, Mercurial, Eclipse, continuous integration tools and/or concepts, application servers, and XML and/or JSON formatting

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrate competency to rapidly learn, understand and analyze:
    • Lifecycle of product data using standard software development methodologies.
    • Product Model Structure
    • Client products, processes, and requirements documentation
  • Advanced Excel skills which include but is not limited to the following: VBA, workbook navigation: filtering, formatting, range names; formula tracing: precedents and dependents; functions: SUM, SUMIF, COUNT, COUNTIF, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, SUMPRODUCT.
  • Intermediate OCL (Object Constraint Language) skills which includes but is not limited to the following basic BOM navigation; all Math functions; Date functions; String functions; select/collect/iterate.
  • Exhibit personal presentation in a professional manner as it relates to appearance, communication, and actions.
  • Demonstrates and facilitates professional communication skills; must be able to understand, listen, write and speak fluently, professionally, and, effectively in the English language.
  • Establishes and maintains solid interpersonal relationships with clients and FJA team members across all levels of an organization. Builds others up; focused on team success vs. individual success.
  • Motivated, responsible, and organized self-starter who excels at time management, meeting commitments, knocking down roadblocks, and possesses a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

New York Based Business Analyst Hiring Pay Range: 80,000 – 100,000. This stated hiring pay range is our good faith belief at the time of this posting. Final compensation placement will vary based on multiple factors such as experience, knowledge, competencies, and skill level as well as internal equity.

 

Bonus Compensation: Discretionary annual bonus amounts are not guaranteed and are subject to change based on company and individual performance. Discretionary annual bonuses, when paid, are determined by the leadership team, and is based upon an individual going above and beyond the scope of the job role.
